B760 MAG Tomahawk : MSI’s card leaked before the launch !

While motherboards equipped with B760 chipset are not yet available, the B760 MAG Tomahawk from MSI leaked. The card is now visible and reveals mostly an updated design with connectivity, apparently, unchanged from its B660 counterpart.

B760 MAG Tomahawk: above all a question of design!

MSI B650 MAG TomahawkThe new MSI card presents itself to us and offers a new look that is more in keeping with the military side. The different heat sinks are more textured than on the B660 version.

However, if the design evolves, the connectivity seems unchanged. For the trouble, we have the right to a duo of PCIe x16 (possibly to the 4.0 standard). We note at the bottom, the presence of a small x1 connector to the 3.0 standard.

The storage part puts forward a trio of M.2 protected by heatsinks that we can recognize by the D1/2/3 marking. Obviously, they would be connectors taking advantage of a PCIe 4.0 interface. Nevertheless, as underlined by Videocardz the mention “Lightning Gen5” on the box, seems to indicate the presence of an M.2 in PCIe 5 .0.

Finally, this version supports DDR4 memory at 5333 MT/s(OC). Nevertheless, a version capable of hosting DDR5 would also be in the program!

Finally, for the rear panel, no change concerning the connectivity. We would still have eight USB type A ports, of varying standards. In addition, there is a DisplayPort and HDMI connector as well as Ethernet, WiFi 6E antenna sockets and the audio part.
