ASUS unveils its TUF Gaming X870 in China!

From July 12 to 14, ASUS exhibited one of its motherboards at Bilibili World 2024. The board in question is none other than the TUF Gaming X870, a model featuring a new-generation AMD chipset… Well, “new generation”.

TUF Gaming X870: the board on show in China!

ASUS TUF Gaming X870The program features a motherboard in line with the current series, with a very raw design. Indeed, we find imposing brushed aluminum heatsinks with “TUF Gaming” markings all over the board.

In terms of connectivity, the board features four DDR5 DIMM connectors. The board also benefits from a first PCIe x16 5.0, complemented by a second x16 connector, but we don’t know how it’s wired or to which standard it belongs.

The storage section seems to feature at least three M.2s. Of course, this includes M.2 in PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0. Finally, two small SATA units complete the package. It’s worth noting that SATA is gradually disappearing from motherboards, where it was present in large numbers in the past.

On the rear, the board features a WiFi 7 connection complemented by a 2.5 GbE network chip. Of course, USB 4 is also present, as is USB-A in 5 Gbps and 10 Gbps. There’s also an HDMI output and a bios flashback button for simplified bios updates.
