ASUS has a new case model in the works: the ROG GR801, also known as the ROG Cronox. An AMD version of this model is now available in China for 2,399 yuan, which is approximately 310 euros after conversion. However, the price on the brand’s online store paints a very different picture, with the standard edition costing over $500. This just goes to show that there’s a significant difference between prices in China and those in the West.

ROG GR801: A High-End Case from ASUS!

A quick recap of the specs:

This case is a large model measuring 248.3 (W) x 583.0 (D) x 618.7 (H) mm. However, this AMD version features a few aesthetic changes, including an AMD logo on top and a “ROG x Ryzen” accent. Similarly, when powered on, the built-in display shows a custom animation, while the front panel features ROG and AMD logos. The color scheme is also noteworthy, as every other PCIe bracket is orange, as are the rubber cable grommets.

In terms of component compatibility, the case supports a CPU cooler up to 180 mm in height and a graphics card up to 400 mm in length. As for the motherboard, support for models up to E-ATX with BTF compatibility is also included.

Cooling capacity will be substantial: up to 14 120mm fans. However, for liquid cooling, you’ll be able to install two 360mm radiators—one at the top and one on the side.

Prices:

Obviously, this AMD version of the case offers a very competitive price in China, where it retails for 2,399 yuan, just like the base model. However, if you check the ASUS website directly, the original version of the ROG Cronox is much more expensive: $559.99, or about 490 € after conversion.
