As for ASUS, we’ve learned that the brand has just announced the retail price of its anniversary motherboard. As a reminder, this model commemorates the 20th anniversary of the ROG lineup by paying homage to the brand’s very first Crosshair. To that end, we see a vintage design applied to a Crosshair X870E Dark Hero motherboard. Naturally, given the base model, the price is just as high!

And it’s not even real copper…
Broadly speaking, with this board, ASUS is simply applying a skin to its Crosshair X870E Dark Hero. This skin pays homage to the brand’s classic design. Thus, the SSD,VRM, and chipset heatsinks feature copper tones, while the RAM slots are blue and white—the same goes for the PCIe, SATA, and CPU power connectors, which are white. Additionally, on the chipset heatsink, we can see the old ROG series logo, which takes the shape of a “G,” but in a cubic form.
Unfortunately, despite the copper tones shown here, the heatsinks are still made of aluminum and are simply painted. This is one of the criticisms that could be leveled against this design.

Naturally, we find high-end specs with a total of 20+2+2 power phases made up of high-quality components. In terms of memory, there are fourDDR5 slots capable of handling up to 256 GB of RAM, while two PCIe x16 slots are also present. A 2-inchOLED display is included, extending from the first M.2SSD heatsink. For storage, there are four M.2 slots and four SATA ports.
On the back, you’ll find dual Ethernet ports (5 GbE + 10 GbE), a high-quality audio section, and all the necessary ports for connecting your peripherals.
€829 in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland!
As for the price, as mentioned above, ASUS is positioning this motherboard at around €830. Clearly, there is a price premium compared to the original card, which currently starts at €730. As for availability, this model is already available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. For France, we’ll have to wait a little longer.
