Asus has announced the arrival of three new power supplies. On the menu, we find the ROG Strix Gold Aura Edition. These power supplies are sold between ~€215 and ~€290. Of course, we get an 80+ Gold certification and ATX 3.0 compliance!
ROG Strix Gold Aura Edition : Asus power supplies with an RGB logo !
With these power supplies, we find three power ratings with models rated at 750W, 850W and 1000W. The whole set offers an 80+ Gold certification ensuring an efficiency of 92% at 50% load. On the other hand, regardless of the power of the block, we find a certainly well designed but also imposing shell. The 750W version is 18 cm deep!
On the other hand, the brand distinguishes itself with an interior that also seems well built. As usual, Asus uses large internal heatsinks to improve the cooling of the block’s heat-producing elements. Still related to cooling, the fans employed are by Axial-Tech in 135 mm with a semi-passive operation. Thus, up to 50% of load, ventilation will be cut ensuring maximised silent operation.
For the electrical part, the Taiwanese brand opts for a single 12V rail. As far as electrical protection is concerned we have OPP, OVP, UVP, SCP, OCP and OTP. Of course, ATX 3.0 compliance allows the blocks to deliver 200% of their nominal power over a short period of time.
Finally, as far as connectors are concerned, we find the indispensable 12VHPWR 16 pin connector to power an RTX 40-series… As well as everything else usually present.
