Asus is on the ball, with the official launch of its new Z790 motherboards, which will accompany 14th-generation Intel processors at their launch. In all, we can look forward to seven new references!

Seven new Z790 motherboards from Asus!

Things are now official: the brand is offering us no less than seven new motherboards, as follows:

  • Maximus Z790 Dark Hero
  • Maximus Z790 Apex Encore
  • Maximus Z790 Formula
  • Strix Z790-E Gaming WiFi II
  • Strix Z790-F Gaming WiFi II
  • Strix Z790-A Gaming WiFi II
  • TUF Gaming Z790-Pro WiFi

As you can see, we’re dealing with top-of-the-range products from the TUF or Strix series. However, we note that Asus is renewing its Formula series for this refresh generation. Indeed, when Raptor Lake and Core i 13000 were launched, this range was absent from the shelves. As a reminder, this is a motherboard whose power supply stages can be water-cooled.

Of course, the brand also offers a new Apex card, the Apex Encore, which we spotted at a Scandinavian retailer. This is a card designed for overclocking with dedicated functions. We offer you a test with the 13th generation Intel processor.

As for the boards in the Strix series, these are motherboards aimed at the mid-range sector. They feature an elegant design and a number of functionalities. These include the Q-Release feature, which facilitates removal of the graphics card. What’s more, all these cards benefit from Wi-Fi 7, enabling higher wireless speeds.

The TUF Gaming

As for the little TUF Gaming, the brand continues to offer cards with a military look. Here, we’re treated to a more basic model than the others, with less imposing SSD heatsinks, but it still gets the job done. Likewise, connectivity is a little more streamlined, with unbent SATAs for example. However, it’s also the most affordable standard model. What’s more, it still features the famous Q-Release, an option that’s becoming increasingly common at Asus. Not a bad thing in itself, far from it!
