Asus announces its XG49WCR, a 49″ dual 1440p display

About a week ago, Asus announced its ROG Strix XG49WCR, an imposing PC monitor… And for good reason, it displays a double 1440p resolution and a large diagonal of 49″. In short, a good big screen like we like at OCC!

With this new model, Asus offers us an imposing monitor with a large diagonal of 49″. The format is therefore very stretched with a 32:9 format, as well as the resolution which corresponds to a double screen in 1440p. As you can see, this model displays 5120×1440. The reactivity should also be good with a frequency of 165 Hz.

On the display side, we know that it offers a coverage of 125% of the color range sRGB. Ditto, from the factory, we will find a ΔE lower than 2.

However, what is most interesting is the ability of this model to handle two video inputs simultaneously. You will be able to connect a laptop as well as your fixed PC at the same time. In this kind of situation, the display simply behaves like two separate screens in the middle. However, via the Smart KVM technology you will be able to switch from one machine to the other by simply passing your cursor from one bort to the other of the display. The only requirement is that you have connected your peripherals directly to the display.

We finish with the on-board connectivity, which offers HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, Ethernet and USB-C. Moreover, regarding the latter, you should know that it can provide a power of 65W, enough to recharge its peripherals.

For the moment, no price is known.
