News about ASRock today, we’ll be highlighting the arrival of new power supplies. The programme includes a series of power supplies for each of the brand’s existing ranges. There is a Challenger series for entry-level power supplies. The mid-range is occupied by the Steel Legend and Phantom Gaming models. As for the top of the range, we’re talking about Taichi! branded models
ASRock now offers power supplies!
The Challenger :
Broadly speaking, this series of power supplies is positioned in the entry-level sector. Here we have 80 Bronze certified power supplies with power ratings of 550W, 650W and 750W. 80 Gold versions are also available in 650W, 750W and 850W. In all cases, ventilation, provided by a 120 mm mill, should be 100% active, while cable management is non-modular.
The Steel Legend series :
The Steel Legend series takes things up a notch, with 80 Gold and Cybernetics Platinum certified blocks. These are models that promise to be silent with their Lambda A certification (between 20 and 25 dBA). They feature modular cable management and power ratings of 650W, 750W, 850W and 1000W. Finally, the whole package benefits from a 15 cm deep casing and components of Japanese origin. In the meantime, there’s a 10-year warranty, compared with 5 for the Steel Legend.
Phantom Gaming, up to 1600W!
With the Phantom Gaming series, we’re starting to get into the high-power range, with power supplies rated at 750W, 850W, 1000W, 1300W and 1600W. These power supplies are fully capable of handling large configurations and even systems with several graphics cards. However, there won’t be any major changes compared to the Steel Legend units in terms of certifications, cable management or ventilation. Once again, we have a 10-year guarantee!
Taichi blocks, the top of the range!
Finally, ASRock offers the Taichi series, which is the brand’s top-of-the-range range. Here you’ll find major certifications with 80 and Cybernetics Titanium. As for noise, it should be very low with a small A (between 15 and 20 dBA). The power ratings are significant, with versions boasting 1650W and 1300W. We’re talking about modular cable management with two 12V-2×6 connectors. The components are high quality, with Japanese capacitors, Infineon CoolMOS mosfets and SBD SiC diodes. Once again, the warranty is 10 years.
For the moment, we don’t know the selling price or the availability date. However, it would appear that the OEM behind these blocks is Seasonic.
