An RTX 5090 D V2 Matrix for China

Despite the ongoing restrictions against China, ASUS is still keen to offer a Matrix version for the country… But the brand has been forced to make a few adjustments. That’s why it’s offering an RTX 5090 D V2 Matrix, a card that complies with US sanctions. Only the GPU has changed here; the card itself is identical to its Western counterpart in every other respect.

RTX 5090 D V2 Matrix: China will also have its own Matrix!

Broadly speaking, the card has the same design with the same black and red heatsink as the Western model. It also features 30th Anniversary markings and a four-fan design. The latter still has two power connectors, a 12V-2×6 and a BTF connector. This pushes the power consumption limit to 800W instead of 575 ~600W on the more mainstream RTX 5090s.

This card also has a tilt detection system. Over time, the card may start to tilt. If it tilts too much, you will receive an alert on GPU Tweak, at which point you will need to install a GPU support bracket. Otherwise, the card has a system for monitoring the distribution of electrical load across the power connector pins. And finally, a memory chip defrosting system is also available, but that’s for extreme overclockers.

The choice of an RTX 5090 D V2 chip is not voluntary, but forced, as the Americans prohibit the export of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5090 D V1. As a result, this card has a truncated memory section: a 384-bit bus (instead of 512 bits) and 24 GB of VRAM instead of 32 GB. The memory bandwidth is reduced from 1.79 TB/s to 1.34 TB/s. However, on Time Spy Extreme, the card scores 28,638 points.

As for the price, expect to pay $3,820. Yes, ASUS is keen to maintain its premium pricing.
