An RTX 4070 Ti in January… And we already know it

You followed the short and dramatic life of the RTX 4080 12Gb which was supposed to be launched in the next few days with its fake twin the “real” RTX 4080 16Gb. As expected, this card which had a very different configuration from the 4080 that will be released, should reappear in early 2023. New leaks confirm that this card should finally come out under the name of RTX 4070 Ti which is not really a surprise since, initially, the first leaks mentioned a GPU with the same characteristics to equip a 4070Ti.

RTX 4070 Ti In itself, this is rather good news. This future RTX 4070 Ti should therefore take the specifications we know, namely 7680 CUDA cores and 12 GB of GDDR6X memory. But in principle the price should be much lower. We remember that at the time of the announcement, we had raised the huge gap in performance and design between the RTX 4080 12GB and 16GB variants (24% to 30%). If Nvidia makes this effort it would open the door to an RTX 4070 positioned at a “decent” price.

Towards a RTX 4070 with a “decent” price?

As we’ve mentioned several times in the past, the GTX/RTX xx70 series has always been a product with the best price/performance ratio. With the inflation and the high price imposed at the launch of the RTX 4080 / 4090, we could fear the worst. If the latest rumors concerning the positioning of the 4070 Ti could be true, then we think that Nvidia would send a positive signal for the PC market after a period where brands have pulled too much on the string…
