An RTX 3080 piggy bank to save up for what’s to come?

Bulgaria has come up with an atypical product in the form of small 3D-printed piggy banks. This one is completely original, as it is based on the design of the RTX 3080, and will allow you to save your pennies while you wait for the new generations.

RTX 3080: a cute little piggy bank!

As we said earlier, the piggy bank in question is 3D printed, and the quality is clearly top-notch. What’s more, the reproduction of the card is faithful to the original, with its backplate and dual-fan cooling system. Even the PCIe is well reproduced.

Of course, you know the purpose of a piggy bank: to put money in it. Here, the slots for inserting your cash are on the edge of the card, in the PCIe slot. However, the capacity seems rather limited.

What’s more, as our colleagues at Tom’s Hardware point out, if you put in a small coin of €2 a day, or around €60 at the end of the month, you’ll have to be patient before you can afford a graphics card. With a price tag of €2,000 for an RTX 4090 Gaming OC, you’ll need to save for something like 33 months, or almost three years.

But… as the RTX 4090 came out two years ago (September 2022) and if you take into account the resale of the old hardware to finance the new one, this could be a good way of buying new-generation hardware without it feeling like too much at once. It all depends on your ability to save.

Note that the creator doesn’t go overboard on prices, which come to around twenty euros (39 Bulgarian lev). As this comes from Sofia, postage costs are fairly high, so you should expect to pay around twenty euros extra.
