Asus could present a Rog Ally 2 handheld console in the next few days, during Computex 2026. At this stage, we’re following a rumor raised by German YouTubeur Steam Dad, specialized in handheld consoles, who invites us to keep an eye on the Taipei show to discover a new-generation Asus handheld console. We need to be very cautious on this subject, especially as AMD doesn’t seem to have anything new in store for its Z2 dedicated APU range.

A Rog Ally 2, an AMD Z2 refresh APU… Or an Intel surprise?
Because if a console with some kind of AMD refresh is possible, it’s worth bearing in mind that Intel is likely to make some big announcements on the subject during Computex. Intel’s G3 mobile console range is no surprise: it was leaked a while ago, and we know it’s based on Panther Lake. MSI should be the first to benefit… Once again, if you’re a loyal reader, you won’t be surprised, since we unmasked a Panther Lake-based MSI Claw strolling around Intel during CES 2026 in January. Recently, the leaks about this new MSI console have accelerated.
So, what are we to make of this new Rog Ally story? It’s hard to imagine a new generation based on AMD, a key partner. We can therefore envisage a mid-cycle evolution… Objectively, at this stage, the situation remains totally unclear. It would be a real surprise if Asus were to switch to Intel for its future Rog Ally, not for technical reasons, but above all in view of its partnership with Xbox, which gives pride of place to AMD. And above all, ASUS is not on Intel’s official list of partners for its G3s.
