A new rumour around NVIDIA reveals that the company could well be bringing the Titan series back to life. While there hasn’t been a card of this name with an Ada Lovelace GPU, things could be about to change with Blackwell. The chameleon is said to be working on a hypothetical ‘Titan AI’, a card taking advantage of the artificial intelligence hype, right down to its name!

Titan AI: what can we expect?

For the moment, it’s hard to say what we’ll be dealing with. However, we can imagine that the card will benefit from a more complete GB202 GPU than that of the RTX 5090. The 5090 would then benefit from a neutered GPU, leaving the company a little room to offer an even more powerful card, this model taking the form of a new Titan.

Initial rumours suggest a card with a total of 32GB of memory and a 512-bit bus (compared to 448 bits for the 5090), but this has yet to be confirmed. In terms of performance, this new card would be up to 63% more powerful than the current card RTX 4090, while the RTX 5090 would offer a 48% improvement in performance. That would make a future Titan around 10% faster than the future RTX 5090. Of course, these are just rumours, so it’s hard to take them for granted.

Note that RedGamingTech (the source of the rumour) points out that :

  • RTX 5080: 29% better performance than the RTX 4080
  • RTX 5070: 26% better performance than the RTX 4070 Super
