Lian Li announces new power supplies for small-format PCs. With its SP Platinum SFX series, the company is launching 850W and 1000W power supplies, all in SFX format rather than SFX-L. The result is greater compactness and the ability to power very large graphics cards. With 1000W on the meter, it’s possible to fit an RTX 5090 in your machine!

SP Platinum SFX: small size, big power!

Lian Li SP Platinum SFXWith these two power supplies, the brand is offering 850W and 1000W power supplies. The SFX format guarantees compact dimensions of 100 (W) x 125 (D) x 63.5 (H) mm. With dimensions like these, the blocks fit into any case, and the brand even supplies an ATX to SFX adapter!

The electrical part is also of the highest quality, with Japanese 105°C capacitors. Otherwise, these blocks are 80 Platinum certified, ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliant. Of course, all the necessary electrical protection is provided, with OPP, OVP, SCP, UVP, OCP, UVP, OTP and SIP.

Cooling is provided by a single 92mm fan, which operates semi-passively. On the 850W block, it will activate when the machine’s consumption reaches 340W, and it will engage more progressively than on the 1000W block, which undergoes an “on-off” effect at 1500 rpm as soon as consumption reaches 400W.

Connectivity is of course comprehensive, featuring a 24-pin ATX, two 4+4-pin CPUs and a 12V-2×6 coupled with three 2-pin PCIe 6s. Peripherals include five SATA and two Molex. As for the cables, they feature an embossed texture.

The only thing left to do is to find out the selling price, although availability is announced as being live.
