This year, we went to GamesCom and, among other things, discovered ASUS’ new products. At this German trade show, the brand struck a blow with the unveiling of its new ultra-high-end graphics card: the RTX 5090 Matrix! To mark the occasion, the brand is not only offering a card for overclockers, but also a commemorative one. The latter celebrates the brand’s 30th anniversary. If you’ve fallen in love, patience may not be needed much longer, with ASUS Singapore announcing an October launch!

With this board, ASUS pays tribute to its first Matrix boards, the 9800GT and HD 4850. This homage is reflected in the shape of the heatsink, at least, since the cooling system is much more advanced. There are four axial fans, a copper base, copper and aluminum fins, liquid metal to ensure thermal conductivity between the GPU and the heatsink – in short, the whole package. What’s more, ASUS integrates infinite depth lighting on the rear edge. Whether you like the style (or not), there’s a lot of work behind it.

Now for the functionalities, of course, there’s a 0 dB mode for everyday use. For overclockers, ASUS offers an OC bios and pushes the power consumption limit to 800W, 800W which can be routed via a GC-HPWR connector and a 12V-2×6… Yes, the card is BTF compatible. What’s more, when overclocking under nitrogen, a defrost function is integrated – that’s for sessions under nitrogen!
Frequency-wise, it’s all up in the air, as the card grinds at 2580 MHz by default, 2610 MHz via OC mode and 2730 MHz with vBios OC.
Last but not least, we’d like to mention its imposing dimensions, with a card that measures 357.6 mm in length, 149.3 mm in height and 76 mm in thickness… A real cinder block!
For launch, you’ll have to wait until October, and you’ll have to be quick, as only 1000 units will be produced!
