ASUS has a new power supply for us. The brand is offering its ROG Strix 1000W Platinum in an all-white colour. Ideal for those who want to assemble snow-white configurations… Provided you don’t hide the unit behind a power supply cover!
ROG Strix 1000W Platinum: a white version:
With this PSU, we have a rather compact reference with a contained depth of 15 cm. Depending on the case, this can be significant, especially if your power supply is front-mounted. Admittedly, this isn’t the most common layout, but it would be a shame to end up in the water because of an overly imposing power supply.
Otherwise, this is a power supply that offers 1000W of power, while benefiting from high efficiency. In fact, this power supply is 80 Platinum certified, one of the highest 80 certifications on the market. Otherwise, it complies with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards. We therefore find a 12V-2×6 connector and not a 12VHPWR. In theory, you’re all set to power an NVIDIA RTX 50 with peace of mind.
Internally, ASUS has adopted impressive heatsinks for the critical elements of the block, while the airflow is provided by a 120 mm fan with a semi-passive operating mode.
In terms of connectors, we find everything we need for mounting large configurations. Naturally, we have a 12V-2×6 as well as four PCIe 6+2 for the graphics cards. The CPU part benefits from two EPS12V in 4+4-pin, complemented by six SATA and three molex. Of course, the 24-pin ATX is still there!
Finally, ASUS has of course adopted all the necessary electrical protection. Internally, we’re sure to find quality components.
Now all that remains to be determined is the retail price. However, it should be in the region of €200, as is the case for its black counterpart. It also comes with a 10-year warranty.
