Lian Li Edge Gold: a PSU with an integrated fan hub!

Lian Li completes its Edge series of power supplies with the Edge Gold range. With these new models, we’re talking about a range of four innovative power supplies that incorporate a USB 2.0 hub as well as fans. A very practical feature. What’s more, cleaning is simplified via a removable power supply grille, etc., etc.

Edge Gold, is Lian Li revolutionising PC power supplies?

Lian Li Edge GoldThis new version is part of the original Edge series, but with a few improvements. The most important of these is the addition of a fan hub capable of supporting a total of six PWM fans, while also adding four USB 2.0 ports. The advantage of this system is that it is completely removable and can be positioned anywhere in your case using a magnet system. It can be connected via a USB-A cable or a USB 2.0 header, directly on the motherboard.

Another improvement is the ventilation grille, which is now removable because it is held in place by a magnet system. The aim is to simplify cleaning and extend the life of the power supply.

Otherwise, we find the L-shaped blocks (180 mm deep) perfectly atypical. The aim here is to make it easier to add connectors to compartmentalised cases where the power supply is installed behind the motherboard tray. Each block will have a dedicated 12V-2×6 connector.

In terms of power, we’re talking about 750W (black only), 850W, 1000W and 1200W power supplies, each available in black or white. Naturally, cable management is entirely modular, and the 1000W and 1200W series are 80 Gold and Cybernetics Platinum certified. Internally, the fan is semi-passive, with Cybernetics A certification (25 to 30 dB) for noise.

Finally, it goes without saying that each model is fitted with all the necessary electrical protection and quality components. As for the cables, they are sheathed strand by strand for a better finish. Finally, there’s a 10-year warranty.
