Dragon Age The Veilguard, what about PC requirements?

On 31 October, the Dragon Age saga will receive a new opus with Dragon Age The Veilguard. Among the good news is that the title will not require an EA Play account to play, and will also be available on Steam, running on Steam Deck Day-1. And there’s no Denuvo DRM to sabotage your performance. In short, the system requirements for playing it on PC are now known, so what can we expect?

Dragon Age The Veilguard, what are the PC requirements without ray tracing ?

Dragon Edge The Veilguard As far as the announced configurations are concerned, there are two parts, one without ray tracing, the other with it. As you’ll see, this changes everything, especially the graphics.

Without ray tracing, the game will be fairly light, requiring only a Ryzen 3 3300X or a Core i5 8400, while the recommended GPUs are the GTX 970 and R9 290X. With this configuration, you’ll be ready to play in 1080p at 30 fps with low detail.

The recommended configuration for gaming in 1440p at 30 FPS or 1080p at 60 FPS (high detail) uses larger processors. This means Ryzen 7 3700X or Core i9 9900K. In these conditions, it would seem that you need at least an eight-core CPU. Otherwise, RTX 2070s and RX 5700 XTs are required.

Finally, the Ultra configuration (2160p at 60 FPS ultra detail) will require an i9 12900k or a Ryzen 9 7950X. As for the graphics, brace yourselves: RTX 4080 and RX 7900 XT are listed. Finally, the game will require 12GB of VRAM, compared with 8GB and 4GB for the recommended and minimum configurations.

With ray tracing :

When ray tracing is activated, the graphics part becomes immediately more important. With RT Selective (2160p @30 FPS or 1440p at 60 FPS), an RTX 3080 or an RX 6800 XT is required, and the same goes for RT On (1440p at 30 FPS). However, if you switch the ray tracing options to ultra (2160p at 30 FPS), the requirements go up a notch: RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XTX. The same goes for the amount of video memory required, which is at the very least 10 GB, while there are a few adjustments to the CPU.

Finally, Dragon Age The Veilguard seems to require 16 GB of RAM, whatever the graphics preset . As for storage, you’ll need a good connection to download it in less than a night, since 100GB of storage space is required. Of course, to avoid endless loading times, an SSD is recommended.
