While the previous chipset gave pride of place to the ROG Z790 APEX, APEX ENCORE and the AORUS Z790 TACHYON, TACHYON X, it could be a more open battle for INTEL‘s next chipset. While the two flagship models, the ROG Z890 APEX and the AORUS Z890 TACHYON, have already been unveiled, two other brands are also entering the fray. The new chipset with its new LGA-1851 socket and the arrival of Arrow Lake processors seem to have given MSI and ASRock the desire to bring out their dedicated overclocking models.
The ASRock Z890 OCF for ‘OC Formula’ is back. It’s important to remember that the last model in this series was based on the Z590 chipset! This model will feature a 27-phases power supply and two DDR5 memory slots.
The second card we were able to discover during our trip to Shenzhen was the MSI Z890 Unify-X. Our last test of a Unify-X model was with the MSI Z690 Unify-X. This new model will have 23 phases and two DDR5 slots.
And if you had to give in, which motherboard would you choose? For our part, we’re going to do our upmost to ensure that these four cards dedicated to overclocking make it into our hands.
