At the beginning of July, we told you that the AM4 wasn’t dead yet, as new processors were in the pipeline. The processors in question are none other than the Ryzen 9 5900XT and Ryzen 7 5800XT. These have now been launched, and can already be found on Amazon France!

Clearly, the AM4 has a long career ahead of it, as it has been kept alive via new launches since 2017.

While the Ryzen 9000 launch didn’t take place on July 31, that didn’t stop AMD from launching its 5900XT and 5800XT, processors based on the Zen 3 architecture.

The 5800XT is a 7nm CPU that still features 8 cores and 16 threads. This model is a refresh of the original 5800X, with 32 MB of L3 cache and a TDP of 105W. However, frequencies have been increased, with a boost to 4.8 GHz from the original 4.7 GHz.

There’s more to say about the 5900XT. This model is more like a downclocked 5950X than a 5900X. Yes, this processor boasts a total of 16 cores and 32 threads. Frequency-wise, it offers something similar to the 5900X, with a boost frequency of 4.8 GHz. However, the base frequency is lower than that of the 5900X and 5950X, at just 3.3 GHz. Finally, it still boasts 64 MB of L3 and a TDP of 105W.

As for prices, expect to pay €219.16 for the 5800XT and €408.33 for the 5900XT on Amazon.
