AMD has released a new driver, version 24.7.1 WHQL, for its RADEON Software driver. This new driver is aimed at new games such as Zenless Zone Zero and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, where numerous performance gains can be seen.
RADEON Software 24.7.1, what’s new?
As far as new features are concerned, this new version mainly offers support for new games. These include Zenless Zone Zero and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. Although in the latter case, the support is accompanied by performance gains:
- Up to 16% perfs in 4K with an RX 7900 XTX versus version 24.6.1.
- Up to 12% perfs in 4K with an RX 7800 XT versus version 24.6.1.
- Up to 12% performance improvement in 4K with an RX 7600 XT compared with version 24.6.1.
With this, the company adds HYPR-Tune support for :
- Gray Zone Warfare
- Lords of the Fallen
- RoboCop: Rogue City
- Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
Finally, Anti-Lag is now supported by Dota 2.
The patches :
With this, we find the following list of patches:
- Improved stuttering when Anti-Lag and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 are active.
- Improved in-game stutter on Fortnite with DirectX12API.
- No more texture corruption on Tekken 8 when ray tracing and upscaling are active.
- No more in-game corruption on Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition with RADEON Boost active.
- Fixed intermittent in-game crashes on Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy with ray tracing enabled.
- Virtual Super Resolution and Display Color Enhancement no longer disable after a driver update.
- Display pixel format can now be changed with certain Windows display languages.
- No more intermittent black corruptions on 3D models when using the Origin or Origin Pro application.
- Using Pot Player, there will be no more corruption when fast-forwarding.
Problems identified:
We now conclude with the problems already identified by AMD:
- Weaker-than-expected performance can be observed on Battlefield 2042 when using the RADEON RX 6000 and RX 7000 (patch planned for version 24.8.1).
- Audio/video desynchronization problems when recording via the driver with the AV1 codec (patch planned for version 24.9.1).
