We stay in motherboards, but this time, we change sector by passing on the side of the industry. Indeed, ASRock announces its IMB-1712 and IMB-X1712 motherboards, two models designed for industrial applications!
IMB-1712: a board with Intel Q670 chipset!
With this card, the brand offers us a card in ATX format with an Intel LGA-1700 socket and a Q670 chipset.
As you can see, this model has two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots (x8/x8 with two GPUs). These PCIe are also completed by three PCIe 4.0 x4 and two standard PCI… Yes, that’s going back now. The storage part offers four SATA III and one M.2 key M for PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD. Two other M.2 are part of the Key E and Key B for WiFi CNVi modules and others.
In terms of memory, we have four DIMM slots for non-ECC DDR4-3200. The maximum capacity? 128 GB.
IMB-X1712: more SATA, ECC RAM and better chipset!
At first glance, the differences with the model above are not obvious. However, we can already notice the presence of four additional SATA. Otherwise, among the non-visible differences, we can mention the support of DDR4 ECC and non-ECC memory. Also, this model has a W680 chipset.
Finally, the I/O connectivity of these two models remains very similar. In general, there are HDMI 2.0b and DisplayPort 1.4 video outputs. Two COM ports are also present, as are three 2.5 GbE Ethernet ports. Note however that the non-X only has two Ethernet. Finally, to count on five USB 3.2 Gen2 Type A and a Type C and an audio part in ALC897.
