Gigabyte announces a new motherboard for the twelfth generation of Intel Core i. With its B660M Pro AX DDR5, the brand gives access to the new standard of RAM, but closes the PCIe 5.0.
B660M Pro AX DDR5: no PCIe 5.0 for this model!
On the program we find a card in micro-ATX format. It is equipped with an Intel LGA-1700 socket and a B660 chipset, which provides four DDR5-5600 memory slots.
However, if DDR5 is present, it is not the case of PCIe 5.0 which is absent. In fact, you will have to make do with a PCIe 4.0 x16 followed by a PCIe x16 at the 3.0 standard and operating in x4.
The storage part puts forward four angled SATA III connectors as well as two M.2. Only one of the two M.2 has a heatsink.
Speaking of heatsinks, the card has quite large heatsinks. These will cool the chipset, but also the power supply stages which have 12 + 1 + 1 phases.
Finally, the rear connectivity is rather well equipped in USB with a total of nine type A ports of different standards. There is also a USB 3.2 Type C as well as HDMI and DisplayPort video outputs. The network part has WiFi AX and an Intel 2.5 GbE chip in Ethernet. Finally, the audio part is based on a Realtek ALC897 chip.
For the moment, we do not know the selling price.
