With the arrival of the RX 6600 XT, the brands announce their variants. Already, at PowerColor, we learned that two versions were in preparation when others do not announce a whole slew of cards. Anyway, today we focus on ASRock’s offer with its RX 6600 XT Challenger series. A range of two cards with a compact model, and another one that is much less so!
6600 XT Challenger : two cards from ASRock !
Of course, we start with the smaller of the two models, the ITX version. As you can see, this is a compact model with the heatsink and PCB barely protruding from the PCIe connector. It goes without saying that this is a model that should be preferred in ultra-compact machines.
In any case, this model has a compact heatsink topped by a single fan. It blows on a small block of aluminum fins crossed by at least three copper heat pipes. Nevertheless, this model still has a backplate on the back of the PCB.
However, this version will not have any factory overclocking, given the format, this is understandable. We will therefore find a boost that can reach 2589 MHz with a frequency of 2359 MHz in game.
We continue with the Challenger Pro model, which is immediately much more imposing. Here we have a larger heatsink since the card has three fans. Nevertheless, we will find a rather short PCB measuring 2/3 of the total length of the card. Also, the backplate is present.
For this model on the other hand, we have no indication regarding its frequencies. However, we can expect a small factory OC.
Finally, both cards benefit from an auxiliary power connector in 8-pin PCIe. The video outputs will vary from one model to another: 2x HDMI and 2x DisplayPort for the Challenger against 1x HDMI and 3x DisplayPort for the Challenger Pro.
Here and there are the ASRock datasheets!
