For the blow, it will have taken a little time to EVGA to launch its Z690 Dark motherboard. Indeed, the latter was unveiled at the end of October 2021 to arrive only now. Anyway, the price is now known and it will cost no less than $830 to buy it… But what does it offer?
Z690 Dark : an EVGA card for $830 !
As a reminder, the brand announced a model in E-ATX format with a large part of the connectivity oriented at 90°. This concerns the SATA connectors of course, but also the power supply part with the 24-pin ATX, but also the two 8-pin EPS12V.
Another surprising aspect is the orientation of the memory slots (DDR5-6600) and the socket at 90°. The goal is to maximize the airflow according to the manufacturer. Nevertheless, this is something we already found on the X570 Dark (tested by us here).
Otherwise, the connectivity highlights two PCIe 5.0 slots capable of running in x8/x8 when both are occupied. The storage part emphasizes three M.2 with heatsink and eight SATA III. There is also a single U.2 connector above the SATA part.
Nevertheless, this is a card that is designed for overclocking, as shown by the features present. In the package, we find the ProBelt connector (voltage measurement), dipswitch to switch nitrogen, buttons for out of case booting, etc, etc.
In short, all this to say that it is a model that aims at the top of the basket and this is reflected in the price of $829.99 on the store of the brand.
