Speed and noise
Fan speed :
So we start our series of temperature readings, here, we start from zero. Let us specify the fan speeds recorded during our readings (for 12V, 8V, 5V):
As far as the fan profile is concerned, the NH-D12L ‘s is very similar, if not identical, to the NH-U12A Chromax.Black. The reason behind this is simple: both heatsinks use the same fans… except for the shape of the frame which differs for the record.
Noise :
Of course, the noise levels will be almost identical. With a single fan, the NH-D12L is slightly quieter at low and medium speed than the NH-U12A under the same conditions and with a single mill. On the other hand, there is a very slight difference at full speed in favor of the single tower model.
Same observation with two fans: the D12L is a bit quieter than a U12A in its lower speeds and a bit noisier at full speed.
