Small novelty on the side of Silverstone which announces a riser RC06. The purpose of the maneuver: to offer a riser to the PCIe 4.0 standard for some ITX cases of the brand.
RC06: PCIe 4.0 riser for ML07, RVZ01, RVZ03 and FTZ01!
This riser takes the form of a rigid 90° card that will fit into the PCIe slot of the motherboard. At its end, we have a PCIe x16 female slot in which the graphics card will be plugged. The aim is to offer a riser to the 4.0 standard in order to limit bottlenecks.
As far as compatibility is concerned, of course, this is a PCIe 4.0 riser, it will not work on a PCIe 5.0 motherboard. We are thinking of the new generation of Alder Lake-S cards in mini-ITX
. In this case, you’ll have to go into the bios of the latter and switch the slot to PCIe 4.0.
Finally, an interesting note from the manufacturer. If you use the riser with an AMD CPU and GPU, it will only run at the 3.0 standard… Who knows why.
