Intel Core i9-12900K vs 5950X benchmark was without Ryzen patch

The presentation of the new Alder Lake family by Intel has given rise to a multiplication of slides and other comparisons, notably between the Core i9-12900K vs. the AMD 5950X. In a few hours ( November 4th ), we will be able to give you our own independent analysis on the performance of these processors which have been in our lab for some time.

Core i9-12900K vs 5950X But what made a lot of AMD fans cringe was the comparison chart that Intel posted to tout the gaming performance of its i9-12900K. In fact, the tests carried out by Intel to create this flattering slide were done in early October, well before the release of the Windows 11 patch dedicated to Ryzen processors. If you haven’t been following the news on this subject, as soon as Windows 11 was released, a significant loss of performance was noted by users of a PC running Ryzen.

Core i9-12900K vs 5950X Microsoft and AMD worked to solve this problem which was clearly identified but which affected a limited number of applications (with a loss of performance of up to 15%). The comparison used by Intel did not use the patches and the performance gain patch released by AMD and Microsoft to solve the L3 cache latency issues and the preferred core selection for these processors on the Windows 11 operating system. So before crying foul, it should be noted that even with this patch, we should expect the 12900K to maintain a significant lead over its Ryzen competitor in games. However, in highly “multithreaded” applications, the impact of these patches should make the game tighter. See you in a few days to have a precise vision of things…
