Future Radeon RX 7700 XT: a 6900XT with 200W of TDP?

The latest leaks this week are about the upcoming Navi 33 GPU that will take place in AMD’s RDNA3 mid-range. The flagship card of this segment could be the Radeon RX 7700 XT. Moore’s Law is Dead seems to have some information that he shared.

According to him, this future Radeon RX 7700 XT equipped with the Navi 33 GPU could have a rasterization power equal to the 6900 XT while bringing much better performance in Raytracing. Finally, its energy efficiency would be much higher than the next NVIDIA Lovelace. Of course, we are in the realm of rumors, even if the RDNA 3 arrival date is getting closer. Here are the points that seem to be confirmed on this RX 7700 XT :

  • Using TSMC’s 6nm process (monolithic GPU design)
  • 8GB of GDDR6 memory optimized on a 128-bit bus
  • Use of faster GDDR6
  • Rasterization performance equal to or better than RX 6900 XT
  • Ray Tracing performance superior to RX 6900 XT

Radeon RX 7700 XT leaks Rumors about the Navi 33 GPU suggest that it is an optimization of the Navi 21 GPU, obviously with the new RDNA 3 architecture but keeping a “monolithic” construction. The card configurations based on this GPU should have 128 to 256 MB of Infinity cache. The GPU would also include 2 memory connection links (32 bits). So we would have a total of 4 32-bit memory controllers for a 128-bit bus interface. Given the memory limitations, cards based on this GPU should target 1080P and 1440P resolutions.
