The ASUS BTF standard is obviously of interest to manufacturers other than ASUS. Indeed, Chinese manufacturer Colorful is also banking on the BTF standard, and its RTX 50 Ultra Zs are also adopting the GC-HPWR, a power connector mounted in the extension of the graphics card’s PCIe slot!

RTX 50 Ultra Z: adoption of BTF 2.0!

Colorful RTX 50 Ultra ZThis series of graphics cards starts with the RTX 5060 and goes all the way up to the RTX 5070 Ti. Unfortunately, there’s no RTX 5080 Ultra Z yet, at least not for the moment.

As you can see, the cards adopt a massive heatsink equipped with three fans. The 5070 Ti is a brick that occupies three slots in a PC case. However, we can expect the heatsink to become more compact as we move down the range.

In short, the boards feature a flashy design, with a white fairing and pink piping surrounding the fans and the ends of the shell. The backplate has a very… Street art, let’s say, with a graffiti logo.

Of course, the special feature of this series is that it adopts the ASUS BTF 2.0 standard, so the cards are equipped with a removable GC-HPWR connector located in the extension of the board’s PCIe slot. The GC-HPWR connector promises to be tough, as it has been proven to handle high power transmissions. Tony Wu, head of ASUS China, gave a demonstration with 1300W of power: no problem!

For reasons of universal compatibility, Colorful also equips its cards with a more conventional 12V-2×6 connector. This way, if users don’t have a BTF motherboard, they can still use their graphics card. Likewise, it helps the second-hand market after the fact.

In any case, Colorful is not a brand present in France. Don’t expect this series to arrive here.
