At CES 2022, AMD renewed its range of mobile graphics cards and added new references. This summer, the desktop GPUs will get the same treatment.

A refresh of the RX 6000 chips for the summer of 2022?

AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series

AMD’s year had started with a refresh of its mobile graphics cards at CES 2022, with high-performance models renamed to 6X50M, 6nm versions and the introduction of a low-power range called RX 6000S.

However, there was no change in the number of CUs remaining at 40 for the RX 6850M XT, AMD only increased the frequencies of the chips and memory in parallel at TGP.

According to new rumors, this time it would be around the RX 6000 desktop cards to get a refresh around summer. On Twitter, the leaker Greymon55 has revealed information about the next AMD cards.

AMD will release an RX 6500 around May, with similar features to the RX 6400 for OEM. On the other hand, the RX 6X50XT, a refresh of the RX 6000 desktop line, will arrive around June-July, to replace the current cards.

We can expect an increase in GPU frequencies and memory to 18 Gbps against 16 currently, all accompanied by a likely increase in the TGP. Only the Navi 21 and Navi 22 chips would be concerned by this refresh and would remain on a 7nm engraving, against 6nm for the new products that AMD has recently released.
